SydneyTalent takes a proactive approach to equipping pre-graduates and graduates for workplace success. Our range of learning and development initiatives foster the development of enduring life skills, complemented by the practical skills learned on the job. With their core competencies targeted and enhanced, students are better placed to make significant contributions in any context, including employment.

WorkReady Competencies™

SydneyTalent has defined twelve sets of competencies that describe effective and desirable behaviour for success in all facets of life, including the world of work.

Derived from a range of sources including the University of Sydney's Generic Graduate Attributes, the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) Employability Skills framework, and a range of industry-based graduate competency models, this framework provides a common language for identifying strengths and development needs, establishing performance criteria, and evaluating performance in the workplace. 

Easy to understand, observe, and measure, these competencies form the foundation of all of our learning and development programs.

WorkReady Orientation™

SydneyTalent's WorkReady Orientation™ gives SydneyTalent employees the practical skills they need to make an immediate positive contribution in the workplace. SydneyTalent employees are conversant in all key aspects of OH&S and other basic workplace practices, ensuring legal compliance before they walk through the door. 

WorkReady Workshops

SydneyTalent offers a range of interactive, group-based training workshops throughout the year, which focus primarily on developing key employability skills for successful performance in industry.  

Specifically, the workshops are designed to help students –

  • Increase self awareness of personal strengths and areas for development
  • Gain a clear understanding of what is expected of them in the workplace
  • Further develop pragmatic employability skills that can be immediately applied across a broad range of contexts, including the workplace

Three different WorkReady workshop programs have been devised to suit various levels of capability and experience:

  1. WorkReady Foundations™ (WRF)
  2. WorkReady Essentials™ (WRE)
  3. WorkReady Specialist™ (WRS)
