WorkReady Orientation™
If you have applied for a work placement advertised through SydneyTalent, and have been advised that you have been shortlisted for the role following initial interview with a Recruitment Consultant, the next step is to complete the online WorkReady Orientation program.
The program ensures that you develop an understanding of your potential roles and responsibilities in the workplace (should you be selected into the work placement) and become aware of the range of learning and development opportunities available to you throughout your interaction with us.
Regardless of whether you are selected for the work placement, WorkReady Orientation introduces you to the overall SydneyTalent experience and provides you with a nationally recognised compliance certification that you can use to support your job applications with future employers.
WorkReady Orientation™ and compliance modules
The modules within this program span approximately two to four hours in total, and need to be completed in your own time, within seven days of becoming shortlisted for a work placement.
The first component of this is the SydneyTalent Orientation Guide, designed to –
- Welcome new students to SydneyTalent
- Provide an overview of our background and vision for student employees
- Emphasise the benefits of working with SydneyTalent
- Present a student employee case study
- Outline the student employee experience, including learning and performance development
- Introduce how student employees, their employers, and SydneyTalent can work together for a safe workplace
- Detail staff support and resources
Once you have familiarised yourself with SydneyTalent and the student employee experience, you are required to complete a series of four online compliance modules –
- Occupational Health & Safety in the Workplace
- Privacy
- Sexual Harassment Prevention
- Bullying Prevention
These modules provide you with a basic knowledge and understanding of your legal obligations as a potential student employee, and serve to protect you and your potential placement employer from liability as you commence employment. The modules empower you to make clear decisions when faced with unethical or uncertain situations. As a result, you are more likely to understand what actions constitute unethical or noncompliant behaviour, and to recognise and be able to report them through appropriate channels. Each module contains a final knowledge assessment quiz which requires an 80% pass mark to receive full certification.
To commence your online orientation and compliance training, please follow the link below and enter your assigned username and password as indicated in your WorkReady Orientation email. Upon successful completion of compliance training, and in the event you are placed with SydneyTalent, it is recommended that you ask your assigned manager at your workplace to provide you with relevant company policies at the commencement of your employment.
